What does it cost to lease a Toyota Highlander Hybrid in August 2025?

The Highlander is Toyota’s longest-running three-row mid-size SUV offering, and it only gets better with the fuel efficiency of a hybrid powertrain. In August, lease payments for the Toyota Highlander Hybrid start at $519 per month in some markets, including the New York metro and some of the Northeast. The lease term is 36 months and includes 36,000 miles total, allotting 12,000 miles per year with $3,999 due at signing. As with almost all Toyota leases, the lease includes two years or 25,000 miles of ToyotaCare scheduled maintenance, too. This offer doesn’t include local taxes and fees, which could increase the monthly payment.

Prefer $0 down on your Toyota Highlander Hybrid lease?

Not wanting to part with the $3,999 due at signing? By spreading the down payment across the duration of the lease (36 months), we can get a pretty good idea of what a Toyota Highlander Hybrid lease looks like with nothing out of pocket. Spreading the $3,999 across 36 payments means adding $111 to the $519 payment, bringing the new total to $630 per month. This isn’t an official estimate and will be impacted additionally by local taxes and fees. More about the Toyota Highlander Hybrid

Like the regular Highlander, the Highlander Hybrid is a staple of the mid-size SUV segment. It has been around in some form for nearly 20 years, and it wouldn’t still be on offer if it weren’t relatively good at the things it does. Standard equipment of note includes 18-inch alloy wheels, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless phone charging, blind spot monitoring, and seating for up to eight. Relative to the traditional Highlander, the Toyota Highlander Hybrid makes slightly less power despite the addition of two electric motors — 243 horsepower compared to 265. While that’s not a totally insignificant dip in power, the fuel savings more than make up for it. The Toyota Highlander Hybrid delivers an EPA-estimated 35 mpg, significantly better than the 22 mpg city and 29 mpg highway the regular SUV gets.

Final thoughts

The Highlander Hybrid accomplishes priority one well; that is, carting up to eight people around in relative comfort and while using as little fuel as possible. Its value is further enhanced by standard all-wheel drive, which is new for 2025. While we wish the Highlander Hybrid got the crazy MAX hybrid powertrain the Grand Highlander enjoys (362 horsepower to boot), we think that, for fuel efficiency, it doesn’t get much better than this. Leasing is a good way to keep long-term costs to a minimum, too.
