New Mexico man who assaulted, strangled woman pleads guilty

NEW MEXICO (KRQE) – A Tohatchi, New Mexico, man pleaded guilty to charges for attacking and seriously injuring a female. According to court records, the attacks on the female happened on March 5 and 6, 2024.

Court records show Victor Badonie, 33, was with the victim at her home in Zuni, New Mexico. An argument broke out and Badonie assaulted and strangled the victim. The victim’s injuries required her to be hospitalized. Badonie pleaded guilty to assault by strangulation and assault resulting in serious bodily injury. He faces up to 20 years in prison when sentenced.
