Connecticut’s biggest Powerball jackpot of the year up for grabs

WALLINGFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — Connecticut’s biggest Powerball jackpot of the year will be up for grabs Wednesday night.

The current Powerball jackpot, which has been climbing since June 2, has reached $643 million. The next drawing will take place at 10:59 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 20.

Connecticut residents won more than $1.1 billion in prize money from the lottery during the last fiscal year, according to the Connecticut Lottery Corporation. In July 2024, a Meriden couple won $100,000 from a Powerball ticket purchased in Shelton. In February 2025, a Bridgeport resident won $150,000 from a Powerball ticket purchased on Valentine’s Day. In October 2024, a Windsor resident won $2 million playing Powerball.
