Caitlin Clark reportedly sustained bone bruise in ankle during workout on Aug. 7 in addition to her lingering groin injury

Caitlin Clark reportedly has another injury concern in addition to the right groin injury that's sidelined her for multiple weeks.

The Indiana Fever star sustained a bone bruise in her left ankle during a workout on Aug. 7, according to Fever reporters Scott Agness and Chloe Peterson. Per Peterson's report, the bone bruise is "mild," and Clark would still be sidelined with the groin injury regardless of the ankle injury.

The news of the bone bruise two weeks after it reportedly happened further muddies Clark's status for the remainder of the season. Prior to the news on Wednesday, Fever coach Stephanie White offered an update to media that didn't provide any clarity.

“Until she can get into practice, and until you guys see her in practice, it's really status quo, same as same as we have been,” White said.

Clark remained sidelined during the practice session that was open to media and did not speak with reporters.

Clark's timeline and injury status has been murky since she re-injured her groin during a July 15 win over the Connecticut Sun. Clark had returned to the lineup for that game after missing Indiana's previous five games with a groin injury.

Clark's missed 13 games since the injury in addition to the All-Star weekend festivities hosted by the Fever in July. Clark's been sidelined from practice as well during her recovery as White as the Fever have repeatedly been unable to offer a timeline for her return. The team did not disclose her ankle injury to the public.

Clark's now missed 13 of Indiana's 35 games in her second WNBA season following her meteoric rise as the face of the league during her sensational rookie campaign. Her injuries are among several that have decimated the Fever late in the season.

Guards Sophie Cunningham (torn MCL), Sydney Colson (torn ACL), Aari McDonald (bone fracture in foot) have all sustained season-ending injuries.

This story will be updated.
