KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Kansas City, Kansas Police Department (KCKPD) says that a 19-year-old man has been taken into custody and charged for a double homicide from Saturday, August 16.

KCKPD says that the suspect, 19-year-old Jimi St. Clair, was taken into custody overnight in Kansas City, Missouri, and is currently being held in the Jackson County Jail. He’s charged in Wyandotte County, Kansas, with two counts of second-degree murder and one count of attempted second-degree murder.

The incident stems from a shooting over the weekend, where two men, 26-year-old Tyler Wheeler and 22-year-old Victor Loza, were killed and a woman suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

The initial report said that at around 7:10 p.m., on Saturday, officers were sent to Washington Boulevard near North 16th Street and Oakland Avenue on a reported shooting. When those officers arrived, they found the two men, both of Bonner Springs, Kansas, and a woman who had been shot.

“That’s traumatizing. I don’t like violence at all. Especially as a mother, I have a three-year-old. So it’s pretty hectic to see violence and homicides happening,” Maria Martinez, who lives in the area ,told FOX4 on Sunday.
