The price to stream hit Apple shows like The Morning Show and Severance is going up: The streaming service is hiking up its cost by 30%, raising its subscription fee from $9.99 to $12.99, TVLine has confirmed.
The change will hit new customers in the U.S. and select international markets as of today, Thursday, Aug. 21. Existing Apple TV+ subscribers will be charged the higher price within 30 days of their next renewal date.

In bumping its fee, the tech-giant noted that Apple TV+ remains the only major streaming service that does not offer a price-reduced ad-supported plan. The streamer also cites its “deep library” as another reason for the increase.
“Since it launch, Apple TV+ has expanded its deep library of hundreds of Apple Originals, with thousands of hours of premium programming across genres and brand-new releases weekly — all ad-free,” the company said in a statement. “Subscribers can explore a rich offering of thrilling dramas, epic sci-fi, feel-good comedies and live sports.”
Apple TV+’s last price increase came in October 2023, when it rose from $6.99 to $9.99 per month in the U.S. The streamer initially launched in November 2019 at a monthly price of $4.99.
Upcoming content hitting the service includes Season 4 of The Morning Show (Sept. 17), Season 5 of Slow Horses (Sept. 24), Vince Gilligan’s Pluribus (Nov. 7) and original movies Highest 2 Lowest (Sept. 5) and The Lost Bus (Oct. 3).
