NEW MEXICO (KRQE) — A man with an extensive criminal history was indicted again last week. This time, for kidnapping his old boss.

Man sentenced to prison for illegally dumping cyanide, other chemicals in Albuquerque area

In 2018, investigators say Jose Ramirez kidnapped his old boss who had fired him for theft. Court records allege that he worked with two accomplices, ambushing and kidnapping their victim outside his home. Police raided a compound looking for Ramirez a week later, but they learned that he had fled to California.

He remained at large for 7 years until he was arrested earlier this year. Ramirez has been hit with several charges, including kidnapping, carjacking, and extortion.
