The average base salary for a lawyer is more than $100,000, according to Indeed. However, the education and training involved is known to be a stressful three years of very challenging work. That's why picking the right law school is so important.

In July, the Princeton Review released its list of the 168 best law schools which highlighted four Georgia schools. This was based on multiple factors from school reports and students' survey responses such as classroom experiences, career prospects, and political affiliations. Here's which ones were included and what was said about them:

University of Georgia

Athens, GA

"At the University of Georgia Law, students rave about the education they receive for a bargain price....That’s not to mention the school’s great academic reputation and position as a feeder to the most prominent city in the South....The professors, the people, the curriculum, and the facilities contribute to an overall competitive and comprehensive program that still embodies southern hospitality."

Emory University

Atlanta, GA

"Whether students are looking to pursue a traditional academic path or take a more specialized route, Emory Law offers a wide range of options with its multiple academic programs, from the Center for Transactional Law and Practice....to the Global Health Law and Policy Project....and the Child Rights Project....Students praise Emory’s externship program, which 'gives you lots of options' in these specialized areas"

Georgia State University

Atlanta, GA

"According to its students, Georgia State University’s College of Law offers 'a top-quality law school education without the aggressive environment.' Of particular note is the school's 'top-notch part-time program full of talented students.' 'GSU COL offers an incredible value to students—strong academic reputation with a low cost of attendance,' says a 2L....Most students find that the administration is 'very responsive.'"

Mercer University

Macon, GA

"Enrolling around 140 students each year, the Macon-based law school educates future lawyers using the Woodruff Curriculum, which highlights ethics, professionalism, and practical skills (such as interviewing and counseling, negotiation, mediation, and trial advocacy). In addition, Mercer also features a renowned Legal Writing Program (including the nation's only Certificate in Advanced Legal Writing, Research, and Drafting)."
