Pricing for the Tesla Cybertruck Cyberbeast trim now starts at $117,235.
Compared to just a day ago, the new price reflects a $15,000 overnight increase, thanks to a new required Luxe Package.
Pricing for the Long Range RWD and Long Range AWD remains unchanged, at $72,235 and $82,235, respectively.
Automakers raise prices for any number of reasons. Sometimes a base model disappears, which means a more expensive trim slides to entry-level status. Sometimes it's just an automaker accounting for inflation. And other times, features that were previously optional instead become standard fare, which brings the base price up to match. A report from Reuters shows that the last is to blame for an overnight price hike of $15,000 for Tesla's tri-motor Cybertruck.

Pricing for the tri-motor Cybertruck Cyberbeast now starts at $117,235. That's up from $102,235, just one day ago. Pricing for both the Long Range rear-drive Cybertruck and Long Range all-wheel drive Cybertruck is unchanged at $72,235 and $82,235, respectively.
While nothing has mechanically changed for the Cyberbeast, the top trim now comes with a new Luxe Package, which adds four years of routine service, Supervised Full Self-Driving, and free access to Tesla's Supercharger network. The package also adds Premium Connectivity for offline streaming in the car.
The huge price increase comes at an interesting moment for Tesla. While the automaker doesn't report sales figures for individual models, recall statistics suggest that the Cybertruck's sales figures have been underwhelming in its first two years. One potential explanation for the decision is that with more automakers signing on to Tesla's North American Charging Standard system, the decision to include "free" charging as an upfront cost could be a move from Tesla to recoup increased maintenance costs.
