Although no exact timeline or addresses were shared, Zaxby’s said they are looking at expanding into the Pittsburgh-region. This hypothetical opening would become the first-ever Zaxby’s to debut in the Keystone State.
This potential entrance into the Pennsylvania market comes at a time where the presence of fried chicken eateries has continued to grow in popularity.
Dauphin County Chick-fil-A now open
For example, Chick-fil-A has continued to increase its foothold in the market, with about 20 restaurant locations scattered across the central Pennsylvania region. Here in the Midstate, Chick-fil-A has locations in Dauphin, Lebanon, Lancaster, York, Cumberland, Adams and Franklin counties.
Dave’s Hot Chicken has also opened its doors here in the Midstate – most recently with a new restaurant in Lebanon County on 1501 Quentin Road.
Last but not least, Raising Canes just made its Dauphin County debut at 5050 Jonestown Road back on May 6, 2025, becoming just the 15th to open in the Commonwealth.
According to Zaxby’s website, the fried chicken brand was first founded in 1990 and currently boasts over 950 locations in 17 states across the country.
