Zelenskyy posted a letter he received from Trump on social media.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy responded to that, writing, “We appreciate your kind words for the Ukrainian people, and we thank the United States for standing shoulder to shoulder with Ukraine in defending what is most valuable: independence, freedom, and guaranteed peace.”

“We believe that by working together we can put an end to this war and achieve real peace for Ukraine,” he continued.

Whereas two weeks ago, it appeared a path to peace was possible with President Donald Trump meeting separately with both countries’ presidents, Russian forces are continuing their advance. The Kremlin claimed two more communities in the Donetsk region.
