Maren Morris is opening up about a disturbing experience on her current "Dreamsicle Tour." The 35-year-old country music star, who kicked off the North American leg of her tour on May 30 in West Hollywood, California, revealed that she was allegedly groped by a fan during a meet-and-greet before her recent show. Morris, who has been performing in support of her latest studio album "Dreamsicle," released on May 9, told followers that while the shocking incident left her uncomfortable, she has no plans to cancel future meet-and-greets.
Maren Morris Reveals She Was Allegedly Groped During Fan Meet-And-Greet

“Hi y’all. Tonight’s show was so fun, but someone grabbed my a-- during [the] meet-and-greet before the show,” Morris wrote on her Instagram Stories Friday, August 22.
The Grammy winner did not identify the individual but made it clear she will not allow the situation to end the popular fan experience. “I’m going to continue them because one person shouldn’t ruin it for everyone,” she assured her followers.
Morris also offered fans guidance for future meet-and-greets, stressing the importance of respecting boundaries. “Please know I’m there to connect, share, hug [and] all the things,” she explained. “But, please don’t override someone’s personal space. Love you.”
Morris Opens Up About Life After Divorce

Beyond her tour and recent meet-and-greet controversy, Morris has also been candid about her personal life following her split from fellow musician Ryan Hurd. Appearing on the "Armchair Expert" podcast with Dax Shepard on September 25 last year, the Grammy winner opened up about how she and Hurd are navigating co-parenting their now 5-year-old son, Hayes Andrew.
“I mean, we’re getting it together, but the co-parenting thing has been going well, and we’re trying our best in this way, but it’s still pretty fresh,” Morris admitted. The couple finalized their divorce in January 2024 after five years of marriage.
Since the split, Morris said she’s felt “deeply creative,” noting that leaving the country genre has given her both new inspiration and a sense of freedom. “There’s a lot to write about, but, like, a freedom too,” she explained.
Although she’s been busy performing her "Dreamsicle Tour," Morris emphasized she’s striving for a healthier balance between her career and home life. “I don’t wanna be touring 280 days a year. Like, I want to be home. I wanna be a good mom and also have a social life because then I really don’t have anything to write about,” she shared.
Maren Morris On Coming Out

Morris has also been opening up about her personal journey and new music. In a recent interview with TZR Magazine, the Grammy winner discussed her decision to come out publicly as bisexual.
“I wanted to be able to connect with my fans and my queer community,” Morris shared of coming out in 2024. “Especially in a time where you’re in this free-for-all post-divorce reckoning, community has been so necessary for me and life-saving. Being honest and being vulnerable is the only way that you find community.”
She went on to explain that while she has always been attracted to both men and women, her straight relationships, and the pressures of the Nashville music industry, kept her from speaking about it sooner. “I’ve always known that I am attracted to men and women,” she admitted. “I think because I’ve been in straight relationships the last 15 years of my life, which has been consumed by my music career and living in Nashville, I never felt brave enough to talk about it.”
Morris’ ‘Insurrection Barbie’ Clapback Still Making Waves

While Morris is focused on touring and new music today, she hasn’t shied away from controversy in the past. The singer-songwriter made headlines in 2022 after clashing with Brittany Aldean, wife of country star Jason Aldean, over comments related to trans rights and gender-affirming healthcare.
When Brittany posted on Instagram about being “thankful” her parents didn’t “change [her] gender” during her “tomboy phase,” she went on to spread misinformation about gender-affirming care. Morris quickly fired back on X (formerly Twitter), writing: “It’s so easy to, like, not be a scumbag human? Sell your clip-ins and zip it, Insurrection Barbie.”
The remark instantly went viral, earning Morris both backlash and praise.
Maren Morris Doesn’t Regret Her ‘Insurrection Barbie’ Tweet

Two years later, during an appearance on Cosmopolitan’s "Cheap Shots" series, the “The Middle” singer doubled down, saying she doesn’t regret it.
“I don’t really have any tweets that I’ve regretted,” Morris said. “I will say I didn’t think my ‘Insurrection Barbie’ tweet to a certain someone would have picked up so much momentum, but I stand by it.”
