If your gut is ever telling you that something is off or not right, it's probably best to listen — and these stories prove it. Recently, Redditor u/Brilliant_Ad_3661 asked those in the Reddit community to share who the most "disturbing" person they've met has been, and it's shocking:
."An ICU patient of mine who was recovering from surgery. I was making small talk, and he gleefully told me the story of how he, in a bout of road rage, ran down a motorcyclist and left them for dead on a small country highway in our state. He told me with this zero remorse — casually, as if it was nothing."

."A man used to follow me home from school when I was 15. He made my skin crawl, and I always made sure I was never home alone, because he would be waiting at the bus stop no matter what time I passed it. He'd just stand there until I walked past, and then he'd closely walk behind me all the way home, occasionally calling me pretty or asking if he could take me out. Thank god for my mates being extra protective, because when I was 18, he was convicted of the murder of a 17-year-old girl he'd been seeing, who, when I saw her picture in the paper, was eerily similar-looking to me."
."I had two roommates in college. I wasn't particularly close to either of them, but we came from the same town. One of them had a younger brother, and she asked me if he could spend the night on our couch for a night or two. It wasn't great, but I didn't complain. I can't explain it, but he was so creepy. There was a deadness to his eyes, and he hardly spoke. I was very glad when he was gone. A few years later, I found out how creepy he really was. Apparently, his parents kicked him out because he had been stealing from them, but he came back and made a hiding place in the garage and would stay there. I guess he cleared it up during the day, because they had no idea how long he was doing that."
"Anyway, he broke into the house next door. A simple burglary would be bad enough, but no. He hung out for hours and waited for the female homeowner to come home. He murdered her with an axe. He was captured not long after and drove away in her car. He was executed a few years later. The whole story wasn't really a surprise. He was the most evil person I've ever been next to, and I knew something was off about him long before it happened."
."Unfortunately, my younger brother. He's at the bottom of the barrel of inceldom, and he harasses people on the internet to the point of being on the receiving end of multiple lawsuits for defamation and harassment."

."My ex-stepmother. There isn't enough space to explain completely, but she was (and I assume still is) completely detached from reality. She believes that, apart from her, her daughter, and her grandkids, people are just things to be used for her betterment. When my dad died (he was no prince, either), she offered to SELL us his ashes. We haven't had any contact with her since then, despite her sending threatening emails trying to extort more money from us. We just pass it all to the police, grateful that she lives in another country. The most disturbing thing, though? In her community, she is considered to be an absolute paragon of virtue — a pillar of the church. In reality, she is an evil shell of a person."
."I had a first-line supervisor while in the army. He made my life and other women's lives hell. He'd frequently proposition the female soldiers of our unit for sexual favors; he was super manipulative and a liar, and he was beloved by most of the men I was stationed with (I was in a mostly male unit). It was really bad and made my skin crawl. Fast-forward, and a few years later, he became a Green Beret. In 2013, he was tried and convicted of kidnapping, forcible sodomy, and sexual assault. He received a dishonorable discharge and was sentenced to 10 years. A petition was started to reduce his sentence, and it succeeded. A general dropped the kidnapping charge, and he was released after one year."
."This one guy I met at a screenwriting course. In our first session as a group, people had gathered, but no one was speaking. So, being slightly outgoing on occasion, I initiated a light-hearted group introduction, and people picked up and joined in happily. There was one guy, though, who felt off the whole time. Before one session, I caught him talking to another member about all the hard drugs he'd done and his connections to violent gangs in America. And any time he contributed to class ideas, he always spoke about his love for 'body horror' — the more depraved the better — and the sick ideas he had for horror films."
"After about seven classes, he erupted at the teacher for no reason, threatening her and telling her what he thought about her, etc. A few of us tried calming him down, but he was seeing red and stormed out. They banned him and refunded him all his money because he seemed like such a threat. I have no doubt that he was not a well man, and he was actually very dangerous."
."I knew someone who told a group of us that whenever he saw animals on the road, he'd deliberately try to hit them because he thought it was like a game of whack-a-mole."

."I've met a bunch of disturbing people, but the worst one was this girl in high school and college who masqueraded as my friend. She completely lacked empathy and did everything she could to destroy me (and damn near succeeded). It's not the ones who are obviously unhinged that are the most dangerous; it's the ones who can smile and seem like the most wonderful people you should really watch out for."
."In the wayback machine, a friend and I used to hang out with a couple of hot guys who ran the local liquor store. Occasionally, one of the guys would bring his brother, who'd stay in the corner and wouldn't talk or socialize. It always creeped me out. Well, several years later, the brother killed his wife and her family, sparing only his children."

."There was a coworker at my old job who used to collect people's hair from their desks. He said it was for art projects. I still think about that sometimes."

."There was a popular guy at my high school who always seemed very nice and friendly. Eventually, it came out that he was a serial rapist who would allegedly watch necrophilia videos on the dark web."
."I wish I didn't know this, but I knew a man who shit on someone's windshield. He was bragging about a girl who wouldn't give him the time of day, so in retaliation, he pooped on her car windshield. He did it before school so that he could see her reaction. He thought it was hilarious, while we all stood there in shock, disbelief, and horror."
."I know a guy who was born into generational wealth. He was totally dissociated from reality. His mother provided him a live-in servant who did all the cooking, cleaning, and a lion's share of raising two small children. She lived in his home for over three years before he found out she was actually a slave. He thought that when his mother had gifted him the help that she was being paid a salary. He was distraught to learn that she never left the house because she was a slave. After three years."
."I met a cool guy at a party. My friend and I were like, 'Yeah, we should hang out with him and our other friend, they'd probably get along.' Nothing came of it, but a couple of years later, we found out that the guy had moved and murdered his roommate and set the house on fire. He seemed like a totally normal guy."

.Lastly: "Many, many years ago, I dated a guy, and we would play little games, which involved him tying me up with ropes. One time, he left the room and came back with a cattle prod. He touched me with it, and I broke out of the ropes and told him to never do that again. That was actually the last time I saw him, and we'd been friends for about three years. He called me a couple of months later from jail. I accepted the call, and he told me that he'd accidentally killed a woman that he was seeing. I didn't ask any details, I just felt very lucky."
Well...I will now be even more cautious whenever I leave my house. Who's the most disturbing person you've ever met? Let us know in the comments, or you can anonymously submit your story using the form below.
