At least 19 plaques stolen in Mapleton and Wellington County since May: OPP

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are asking the public for help after several historical plaques were stolen from Mapleton Township and Wellington County.

Wellington County OPP first received a report on July 29 of a plaque stolen from a post located at Glen Allan Park on Side Road 17 in Mapleton Township.

After that, two more reports of plaques stolen came in on Aug. 15 from the Arthur Community Centre on 158 Domville Street in Arthur.

OPP investigated further, leading them to approximately 16 more reports of dedication plaques that were stolen from bridges throughout Wellington County since May.

OPP is continuing to investigate and asking anyone with information to come forward.

Anyone with information may be eligible to receive a cash reward of up to $2,000 for details that leads to the recovery of the missing plaques.
