
KANSAS CITY, Kan. — Kansas City, Kansas, police officers responded to an apartment complex early Wednesday after police say a man there fired a gun at a couple walking their dog.
The standoff has been ongoing for several hours at the apartment building on Central Avenue near Bethany Street.

According to Officer Tom Tomasic, a Kansas City, Kansas, police spokesman, just before 2 a.m. Wednesday, a man yelled at a couple walking their dog outside, took out a gun and fired it at them.
No one was struck.
The man then ran inside the apartment complex, police were called and a standoff ensued at the apartment building.
As of 6 a.m., police officers were trying to talk the man into exiting the building.
