Jenna Bush Hager shared that her dad, former President George W. Bush, likes to call ahead and order his food before he arrives at the restaurant
She explained that the former politician does this to save time
She claimed he's even asked her to do the same when dining out with him
While it’s become common practice to check out the menu before you arrive at a restaurant, former President George W. Bush takes things a step further.
The 43rd President of the United States has an unusual restaurant habit that even his daughter, Jenna Bush Hager, doesn’t approve of.
“Since we're talking about cool guys, I'll tell you one thing my dad does recently,” Bush Hager, 43, shared on the Aug. 26 episode of Today with Jenna & Friends. “Because he likes an early situation, sometimes he'll order in — and I actually am opposed to this — he'll call the restaurant and order the meal before we get there.”

“So he doesn't have to wait,” she added, noting that it recently happened when she and husband Henry Hager went to dinner with her father. “Because he has a little bit of a restless personality and sometimes Henry and I will arrive and their food [will be there].”
Bush’s advisor even went so far as to reach out to his daughter to let her know about the unusual proceedings.
“Somebody that works with him, Freddy, was like, 'I just want to let you know,' he sent me the menu, 'Your dad likes to order before he goes out,' “ Bush Hager recalled, laughing. “I was like, 'Uh, I guess I'll have the pasta alfredo?' It was at 3 p.m. on a Friday.”

Jenna Bush Hager and George W. BushThis isn’t the first time Bush Hager has shared her dad’s unusual habits. Back in June, she shared how the former president starts each day.
“You know what my dad does every single morning?” Bush Hager asked her Today co-hosts. “He calls his best friend. Every single morning to say good morning and check in on him.”
While Bush Hager didn’t identify her dad’s closest friend, PEOPLE confirmed with President Bush's office that the pal being referenced was former Commerce Secretary Donald L. Evans.
Bush Hager’s co-host and friend Savannah Guthrie joked that the former president, who now lives a quiet life in Texas, can’t make the call at night due to his early bedtime.
"He can't say goodnight because he goes to bed at 6," Guthrie said.
"Well, that's true," Bush Hager agreed.
