AKRON, Ohio (WJW) – No one was lucky enough to win the Powerball jackpot in Wednesday night’s drawing, which now climbs to an estimated $950 million.

However, according to a media release, six tickets were fortunate enough to win prizes worth $1 million or more — and one of those was in Ohio!

According to the release, three tickets matched all five white balls to win $1 million. Those tickets were sold in Arizona, New York, and Virginia. Three additional tickets, including one in Ohio, added the Power Play option to increase their winnings to $2 million. Documents show a ticket sold in Ohio also won $50,000.

According to Ohio Lottery documents, Ohio’s winning $2 million Powerball ticket was an auto-pick ticket purchased at Circle K in Akron, an exact address of which Circle K location was not immediately provided.

As Saturday’s jackpot nears the $1 billion mark, it ranks as the game’s sixth-largest prize in the game’s history and the biggest advertised jackpot in more than a year. The largest Powerball jackpot ever won was $2.04 billion in November 2022.

The next drawing will take place on Saturday, Aug. 30. The odds of winning the jackpot are 1 in 292.2 million.
