There are a lot of celebrities who collect cars, but comedian Adam Carolla has focused on an interesting niche. He likes racecars, especially those which have been driven by the late Paul Newman. In fact, his might be the best collection of Newman racecars in the entire world.

What’s even more amazing is Carolla doesn’t have all those historical racers behind lock and key in some secret location. Instead, he has loaned them out to the National Automobile Museum in Reno, Nevada.
That’s right, anyone can head to northwestern Nevada to get up close with all these amazing rides. While we know not everyone can head out that way, if you find yourself in the neighborhood, it’s worth the extra stop.
Carolla has done his part to keep the legacy of Paul Newman, who went from acting in movies to driving racecars, alive. The collection encompasses the early years of Newman’s motorsports career as he piloted Nissans around circuits, as well as the Porsches the actor drove as a seasoned racer.
What’s great is Carolla knows the backstory of every racecar in the collection, which he gets into while walking the floor with a Complex camera crew. It’s amazing to watch him rattle off facts, showing the man spends a lot of time thinking about cars, just like the rest of us gearheads.
The crown jewel of the collection is Paul Newman’s “Hawaiian Tropic” Porsche 935. It’s so rare and sought after that its appraised value is supposedly just shy of $10 million.
Even crazier is the fact Carolla took the Porsche 935 out at Laguna Seca a few years ago for an historic racing event, spinning it out and narrowly missing wrecking it into the wall. While he might not be as skilled a racecar driver as Newman, the man definitely has a level of respect for the actor’s legacy in the world of motorsports.
