NFL Slaps Rashee Rice On The Wrist

After causing a multi-car crash with serious injuries, the Chiefs’ Rashee Rice has been given a six-game suspension by the NFL. Considering the serious nature of what he did, some feel he got off easy.

A Chiefs star player is in love with his BMWs.

Some people also feel Rice got off easy in the justice system. After all, last month he was sentenced to 30 days in jail. That was thanks to a sweet plea bargain on behalf of the Dallas County District Attorney’s Office, and probably because the professional football player could afford a top-notch attorney.

Even better, Rice has the option of serving those 30 days behind bars anytime during his 5 years of probation. With his missing games all the way until October 7 when the Las Vegas Raiders visit Kansas City, reports ESPN, he might want to exercise that option now and just get it over with.

Kansas City Chiefs fans aren’t happy about this. After all, first their star tight end gets engaged to the girl famous for excoriating guys in hit songs after breaking up with them, then their star receiver, the guy quarterback Patrick Mahomes loves to use in clutch situations, is out for a big chunk of the season.

It could be worse: Rice could’ve been suspended from the final six games of this season.

In case you forgot, all of this stems from an incident last year when Rice was racing his friend on a highway in Dallas, Texas. The NFL player was in a rented Lamborghini Urus while his friend was in Rice’s C8 Corvette.

During that street race, they lost control, crashing into multiple cars. People were seriously injured and some of the reportedly aren’t too happy the guy who hurt them got off as easy as he did. Sure, he paid $115,000 in restitution to his victims, but money doesn’t fix everything.
