All hail the performance truck
There's something inherently special about a high-performance truck. If done right, it retains the practicality of a regular truck, but can take a fair number of supercars in a stoplight drag race. Think of the original Ford Lightning, and you'll get an idea of what I mean. The Ram 1500 TRX is one such truck from the factory, but when the tuners over at Hennessey got their hands on it, it turned into something of mammoth proportions. Literally. This particular 2022 Ram 1500 TRX Hennessey Mammoth 1000 is for sale right now on Exotic Car Trader, and you can check it out by clicking here.
The original Ram 1500 TRX dropped in 2020 as the performance variant of the fifth-generation Ram 1500 pickup truck. While the interior had a few changes from the stock 1500, the real difference was under the hood. There lay the supercharged 6.2-liter Chrysler Hellcat Hemi V8, which produced an utterly ludicrous 702 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque. Other special touches included an ample amount of TRX badges throughout both the exterior and interior, as well as a special Performance Dashboard within the "Vehicle" menu of the TRX's instrument cluster. It's such a bewildering sight to scroll through Dyno and G-Force readings in something that can pull your boat on the weekends.

Why was something so beautiful discontinued, you may ask? Well, back in 2024, Ram just couldn't modify this monster enough to still comply with emissions standards. Pair that with the automaker's shift towards electrification at the time, and the TRX went the way of the dinosaur it was likely named after. Fear not, however, for Stellantis CEO Antonio Filosa has officially confirmed that the TRX will be returning for the 2026 model year.
As for the original TRX, while Ram released numerous special editions over the model's 3-year run, only 1,707 base TRXs were produced, making it as rare as it is powerful.

The team at Hennessey pulled no stops in the development of this thing, netting the motoring world with a truck that boasts 1000 hp and 969 lb-ft of torque. This gorgeous, pavement-punishing package also features the optional off-road kit, meaning it sits on bespoke 20-inch Hennessey 10-spoke wheels wrapped in 37-inch off-road tires with custom front and rear bumpers, and integrated front LED lights. Rounding out the features that ensure the Mammoth can horrify trailgoers as well as it can drag strips attendees are Bilstein BlackHawk e2 adaptive dampers with remote reservoirs and a front and rear leveling kit.
The body is finished in a rather understated Granite Crystal Metallic (gray) over a black leather interior adorned by red stripes as well as TRX and Hennessey embroidered badges. The carbon-fiber accented dashboard, part of the TRX Carbon Fiber Package, also boasts a Hennessey badge that informs all passengers that this is truck number 136 out of a mere 200 produced.

Final thoughts
I could go on and on about how incredible it is to have a pickup truck, something that was seen as nothing more than a tool a few decades ago, sport four-digit horsepower figures that can put just about any car on the road to shame. The thing is, no amount of talking and describing can do the TRX Hennessey Mammoth 1000 any kind of justice. Much like a rollercoaster or your local brewery's newest IPA, this is something that needs to be experienced firsthand to truly be understood. With just 29,000 miles on the snazzy-looking performance-oriented instrument cluster and a pretty reasonable price tag of $115,000, this 2022 Ram 1500 TRX Hennessey Mammoth 1000 can call your driveway its new home. Just don't be surprised when everyone you know suddenly needs to borrow it for "shopping trips."
