Bugatti’s $960,000 Jacob and Co Watch Costs as Much as Four Porsche 911 GT3s

Bugatti is no stranger to excess, and its latest collaboration with luxury watchmaker Jacob & Co proves that the brand’s commitment to extravagance extends beyond its hypercars. The French marque has unveiled two new timepieces inspired by its Tourbillon hypercar: the Bugatti Tourbillon watch and the diamond-clad Bugatti Tourbillon Baguette. The latter carries a jaw-dropping price tag of $960,000 and is limited to just 18 pieces worldwide.

That price point places the watch firmly in hypercar territory. To put it in perspective, one Tourbillon Baguette costs roughly the same as four entry-level Porsche 911 GT3s, or nearly one-fifth of Bugatti’s $4.6 million, 1,775-horsepower Tourbillon hypercar. Buyers could also trade the same sum for a Ferrari SF90 Stradale and still have enough left over for a Toyota GR86—or skip the exotics altogether and pick up 55 Nissan Versas, currently the cheapest production car in the United States.

The design of the watches is heavily influenced by the Tourbillon itself. The Tourbillon watch features a mechanical 30-second tourbillon complication, the fastest ever produced by Jacob & Co, placed on the left side of the dial. The center dial mimics the hypercar’s tachometer and speedometer, while a fuel gauge-inspired third dial functions as an 80-hour power reserve indicator.

In true Bugatti fashion, the spectacle continues with a sapphire crystal automaton in the center that replicates the marque’s new V16 engine. Press a button, and the pistons mounted to a tiny 22.37-millimeter crankshaft animate the firing sequence of the hypercar’s engine for 20 seconds. The watch is available in Titanium Blue or Rose Gold cases measuring 52 mm by 44 mm.

The Tourbillon Baguette takes exclusivity even further. Crafted from 18K white gold, its case is set with 328 baguette-cut diamonds totaling 17 carats, accented by 18 rubies placed underneath to mimic the Tourbillon’s taillights. As expected, all 18 examples have already been sold.
