
A new poll found President Donald Trump’s approval rating rising in August.
Gallup’s August poll found that 40% of Americans approve of Trump’s work in the Oval Office. The numbers are a 3% increase from Gallup’s poll in July, where only 37% approved of the 47th president’s job.
A total of 93% of respondents who identify as Republicans approve of Trump, compared to 35% who identify as Independents and 1% who identify as Democrats.
In terms of how Trump is handling different policies, 37% of U.S. adults approve of his handling of the economy in the August poll. In the July poll, the same number of Americans said they approved of the president’s handling of the economy.
Regarding foreign affairs, 39% of Americans in the August poll approve of how Trump has handled the issue. The number of Americans who approve of the president’s handling of foreign matters is down from 41% recorded in July.
The August poll also introduced a new policy topic — education. Just 38% of U.S. adults approve of Trump’s handling of education, according to the survey.
The Gallup poll was conducted between Aug. 1 and Aug. 20.
