
A suspect in a fatal shooting in Knoxville was arrested July 24 in Asheville, North Carolina.
Police had been searching for Wayne Parham ever since July 6, when Michael Velazquez, 48 of Knoxville, was shot and killed around 7:15 a.m. at an apartment complex on Howard Baker Jr. Avenue near downtown Knoxville. Police said the shooting took place after a fight.
The Asheville Police Department and U.S. Marshals arrested Parham, who will be sent back to Knox County to face a second degree murder charge, the Knoxville Police Department said in a news release.
