After a heat wave brought straight three days of hot and humid weather that saw the heat index surpass 100 degrees, severe thunderstorms caused risks of flash flooding for parts of Delaware as July came to a close.
As August begins with cool and breezy weather, here's a look at how much rainfall those storms brought to the First State.

Following the heat wave, portions of the area were hit by severe thunderstorms and heavy rainfall to end the month of July.

Bellevue Hills: 2.89 inches
Wilmington: 2.86 inches
Greenville: 2.39 inches

Naamans Creek, Claymont: 1.27 inches
Brandywine Creek, Wilmington: 1.10 inches
Newark: 1 inch
Kent County
Clayton: 2 inches
Felton: 1.63 inches
Leipsic: 1.19 inches
Dover: 1.12 inches
Sussex County
Lewes: 2.01 inches
Milton: 1.89 inches
