New photos of Elizabeth Holmes give a rare glimpse into her life behind bars.
On Saturday, Aug. 2, the disgraced former tech CEO, 41, was spotted working out in an outdoor area of Federal Prison Camp Bryan in Bryan, Texas. Holmes held free weights while walking in the prison yard, the photos show.
The Theranos founder wore a gray T-shirt and matching shorts while she worked out. She also wore glasses, gloves, a sports watch and a baseball cap, which covered some of her signature blonde hair.
Holmes, whose once-signature red lip appeared to be replaced with a fuchsia shade, could be seen smiling during her outdoor workout — which she previously revealed to PEOPLE is part of her daily routine.

Elizabeth Holmes works out in the yard at Federal Prison Camp Bryan in Bryan, Texas, on Aug. 2.The former tech CEO — who went from famous to infamous after the Wall Street Journal revealed that the devices used by her blood-testing startup, Theranos, didn't actually work — opened up to PEOPLE about life behind bars in her first interview from the Texas prison in February.
"I’m not the same person I was back then,” Holmes, who pleaded not guilty at her fraud trial and maintains her innocence today, said.
The disgraced Theranos founder — who started the billion-dollar health tech company at the age of 19 in 2003 and became the nation’s youngest self-made billionaire in 2014 — was convicted of three counts of wire fraud and one count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud in 2022.
She began serving her sentence on May 30, 2023, and she is scheduled for release from prison on April 3, 2032.
“It’s surreal. People who have never met me believe so strongly about me. They don’t understand who I am,” Holmes told PEOPLE behind bars. “It forces you to spend a lot of time questioning belief and hoping the truth will prevail. I am walking by faith and, ultimately, the truth. But it’s been hell and torture to be here.”

Each morning, she told PEOPLE, she wakes just after 5 a.m., eats fruit for breakfast and then does a 40-minute daily workout. The workout includes lifting weights, rowing and running on a track, she said.

Holmes also said that the best part of life in the Texas prison is when, twice a week, she gets to see her kids: William, 4, and Invicta, 2, whom she shares with partner Billy Evans.
Watching them leave through the prison after each visit, “shatters my world every single time,” Holmes told PEOPLE, adding: “The people I love the most have to walk away as I stand here, a prisoner, and my reality sinks in.”
