An unlikely luxury family hauler

Hyundai is on a roll with its line of EVs, which is growing every year. The largest one, the three-row 2026 Hyundai IONIQ 9, just might be its most attractive. It’s the brand’s newest addition, based on the gas-only Palisade SUV and a cousin to the Kia EV9. Like the EV9, the IONIQ 9 can shuttle up to seven occupants in electric silence, and there’s ample room for all. The IONIQ 9’s styling is more elegant than the EV9, and everything looks premium. The luxurious atmosphere is impressive in every row, and the all-electric range will wow with up to 335 miles for the rear-wheel drive version.

The IONIQ 9 is characterized by a stunning, pixelated LED light bar in the front and vertical versions for the taillights. It also gets pronounced fender arches at all four corners, flush pop-out door handles, and a lovely uptick between the C- and D-pillars. Like its IONIQ 5 baby brother, the IONIQ 9 is retro-stylish, boasting some of the best sheet metal found on any SUV, electric or gas.  The thoroughly modern interior is airy and open with clean lines, a huge singleframe infotainment and instrumentation display, and much-appreciated physical controls. Other three-row electric SUVs that compete in the same space as the IONIQ 9 are the Kia EV9, Rivian R1S, Tesla Model X, Cadillac Vistiq, and Volvo EX90. The great lease deal for August makes the IONIQ 9 even more attractive than ever.
