Some guys buy flowers for their wife, but this guy built a ’70 Chevelle in his driveway for the love of his life. Even better, the classic muscle car is sporting a nice LS swap. All we have to say is he’s a lucky man to have a woman who’s more impressed by that than a diamond necklace or a trip to Paris.
This heavily modified 1965 Chevelle is ready to rock until dawn.
Instead, she gets over 500-whp in a package that’s one of the most beloved muscle cars of all time. The woman definitely has some great taste.
Her lucky husband, a guy named Victor Camacho, was invited onto Autotopia LA to not only show off his handiwork but also to tell his story.
Victor bought the classic Chevelle off eBay from a seller who wasn’t completely straightforward about the amount of rust damage. But he replaced what was necessary and turned the thing into his wife’s dream ride.

Under the hood is a 454ci LSX V8 crate engine with a big carbon-fiber intake manifold. It’s backed by a 480LE four-speed transmission, which are built for higher horsepower builds. He did keep the 12-bolt rear axle, which apparently handles the power with no issues.
You’ll note there’s a lot of carbon fiber on this build. The firewall, inner fender walls, dash, exterior trim pieces, and other components are made of the woven composite, something which used to be reserved only for the very wealthy.
Also, you’ll note the stripes on the Chevelle look like they’re carbon fiber. They’re actual inlays of carbon fiber with clear coat over them, a nice touch we love.
The only thing Victor didn’t do himself was the paint and bodywork. Those look amazing, but so does under the hood. And if you check out the Autotopia LA video, you can see this car runs great and sounds amazing.
