Ben Napier might be a household name thanks to his renovation know-how on HGTV's Home Town, but there’s another passion that totally revs him up: vintage cars. Off-screen, he is a full-fledged auto enthusiast with a deep appreciation for classic vehicles—something he shares with his wife and cohost, Erin Napier. Over the years, the couple has amassed a growing collection of timeless rides, each one with its own character and backstory.
Fans of Home Town will likely recognize “Clint,” Napier’s beloved baby blue Chevrolet pickup that’s become something of a signature vehicle. But as any of his 715K devoted Instagram followers could tell you, that’s just the beginning. From rugged trucks to sleek sedans, Napier’s garage is a love letter to American automotive history.
Of course, buying vintage cars comes with its risks—but Napier embraces the challenge, restoring each one with care, craftsmanship, and plenty of heart. Ahead, we’re spotlighting the standout models from Ben Napier’s ever-growing car collection—each one proof that his talent for restoration goes far beyond houses.
A 1962 Chevrolet C-10
Napier’s Chevrolet C-10 is better known as “Clint,” and has been dubbed the “most recognizable Chevy in Laurel, Mississippi.” The baby blue vintage truck is as much an HGTV icon as Napier himself. It’s been Napier’s longtime ride and is considered the Home Town mascot by the show’s fans. But the car’s sentimental value surpasses its television cameos. Napier explained in an Instagram post back in February 2022 that he used the truck to “start Scotsman Company”—Napier’s woodworking company—nearly a decade ago.
In 2022, Napier found himself at a crossroads. Clint was on its way out of commission, but rather than let the car die, Napier decided it still had life in it. He ended up going for a “full swap,” or swapping the car’s engine, so it could still hit the road.

A Chevy R20 Pickup Truck
Napier celebrated Home Town’s eighth season with a sweet new ride. He introduced his new Chevy R20 to fans with a zoomed-in photo of its exterior on Instagram in October 2023, claiming a “new character” was being introduced on the show. He named the navy-and-tan vehicle Dale, Jr. after the NASCAR driver Dale Earnhardt, Jr. Napier confirmed to concerned fans that his old faithful, Clint, wasn’t being replaced by Dale but, rather, would be another helper for Napier on the road.
How much is it worth today? According to Hagerty, a 1987 Chevrolet R20 pickup truck in good condition costs roughly $11,700, but the highest selling price for the model at auction in the last three years was $25.9K.
A 1990 Jeep Grand Wagoneer
Fans of This Is Us will be happy to know that the Pearson family’s Jeep is in good hands. Napier bought the show’s beloved Wagoneer after the show wrapped in 2022, all thanks to former This Is Us star, Chris Sullivan, who helped facilitate the sale. According to a video posted to Sullivan’s Instagram account, the Pearsons actually drove two Jeep Grand Wagoneers; one went to Sullivan and his wife, and the other to Ben and Erin. While we don’t know how much Napier paid for the car, we do know what he named it: After some discussion, as seen in the clip, the two couples decided to name one car Jack, and the other Rebecca to pay homage to the show they love.

A 1987 Chevrolet K-5 Blazer
Napier’s gold-and-cream-colored SUV is a Chevrolet K-5 Blazer. It was actually stolen from their house one night in February 2024, when he and his wife were recovering from a bout of Covid—but thankfully, it was later recovered.

A Chevrolet Chevelle
In June 2021, Napier posted a photo of his red Chevrolet Chevelle in the shop, documenting his journey to cloning “Lightning McQueen into an SS” via a fresh paint job and hood adjustment. He’s also done an LS swap in the car.

A 1971 VW Beetle Convertible
While the VW Beetle Convertible, nicknamed “Lucky,” is Erin Napier’s pride and joy, we’re counting it on this list. In their memoir, Make Something Good Today, Ben describes the vehicle as, “A car in the form of Erin,” noting it’s “a pearl white Beetle convertible with a tan top and tweed interior.”

1964 Pontiac Catalina
In an interview with Southern Weddings, Erin mentioned she and her husband’s shared love for vintage cars. Their 1964 Pontiac Catalina, she told the publication, was passed down to Ben. “[It] belonged to my grandfather, then my daddy, now Ben,” she said.
