Rotten: Austin Thieves Steal Food Blogger’s Dog, Car

A popular food blogger in Austin, Texas was shocked to find thieves stole not only his vehicle but also his dog. Having your car stolen is bad enough, but when your beloved pet is taken with it, that’s just unbearable.

Learn how a dog helped save his owner after a horrific crash.

The theft took place on the morning of July 25 as Taylor Hannon was at Mabel Davis Park in south Austin with a friend. Noodles, his dog, was waiting in the car when someone decided to help themselves.

While Hannon graciously said his pooch doesn’t bark, so the thief likely didn’t even realize the animal was there, that wasn’t returned in kind. Instead of the culprit dropping the doggie off at a shelter or somewhere safe, the car and pet continued to go missing.

Then the vehicle turned up stripped of parts and dumped. Bu there was no sign of Noodles.

Desperate, Hannon used his Instagram following of 104,000 people to spread the word that his dog was missing, as well as photos of Noodles.

It was a longshot, but Hannon decided someone thought Noodles was too distinct and so had to be gotten rid of. He was right and his social media push paid off. Someone who doesn’t even follow the food blogger saw one of the posts shared by a friend, immediately recognizing the little black dog.

That person saw the little dog at a “tiny park in the middle of nowhere” in Texas. That lead turned out to pay off as the scared and tired pooch was finally found, then reunited with his owner.

The best part, aside from the happy ending, is that Hannon expressed gratitude to his follower for helping him find his best friend. Perhaps that’s why the man has such a loyal following online.
