CONNECTICUT (WTNH) — Travelers on Route 15 may have noticed some big changes to the highway — new exit numbers.
Renumbering of Merritt Parkway beginning at New York border underway
The change, while confusing at first, was necessary because of the federal government, according to the Connecticut Department of Transportation (DOT).
Nearly 20 years ago, the federal government ordered a more unified numbering system, and Connecticut has been slowly updating its exits to comply.
