Minneapolis 12-year-old found safe after days-long search originally appeared on Bring Me The News.
The 12-year-old girl whose disappearance sparked an emergency alert in Minneapolis on Tuesday has been found safe.
In a news conference Tuesday evening, Minneapolis police confirmed that Victoria Jackson had been found at a friend's home, having last been seen near Minnehaha Falls on Saturday.
Authorities took the step of issuing a cellphone alert in the city on Tuesday, with concern growing for her safety given she has diabetes and may have been without her medication.
"Obviously, it’s a moment of immense relief that I can tell you Victoria is now home, and she is safe," said Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O'Hara.
Mayor Jacob Frey said: "Our entire city right now is breathing a huge sigh of relief," adding that "This could have gone a number of different ways."
O'Hara said it's believed the girl ran away from home, but the investigation into her disappearance continues.
