Goodwill of Southern Nevada continues their Care to Care Fundraising Partnership, supporting Spread the Word Nevada in the month of August. Goodwill chose to partner with Spread the Word Nevada because they offer career development programs to guide people into careers from healthcare to stagehands to welders, but they also understand the value of literacy to help guide people into these new careers, beginning with early childhood books.
Lisa Habighorst co-founded Spread the Word Nevada 25 years ago. She wanted to help change the lives of kids that didn’t have every opportunity to read. Spread the Word Nevada is looking for people to come and volunteer, whether it’s cleaning books every week or working 1 on 1 with a child who is a struggling reader.
