SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WMBD) — This year’s Butter Cow sculpture was unveiled on Wednesday.
Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker said this is the state fair’s 104th butter cow. This year’s state fair’s theme is “Adventure awaits,” so the cow has a companion who is an adventurer seeking hidden treasures around the fairgrounds.
“Illinois is an agricultural powerhouse state; we are also a state with a real artistic spirit,” Pritizker said. “The unveiling of the butter cow represents both of those things.”
It was revealed a day ahead of the start of the Illinois State Fair, which will take place from Aug. 7 to 17. The fair will feature several attractions, including food, shows and a carnival.
