
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — With summer vacation just about over, children across Middle Tennessee are getting ready to head back to class.
Hundreds of students took part in Dickson County’s annual Back to School Bash on Saturday, July 26.

WDKN Radio, along with the school system, government leaders, and many sponsors and partners, set up shop at the Dickson County Fairgrounds to give away the basics for kids to start the new semester, like backpacks, paper, folders, and even special personal care baskets for teenage girls. In addition, various organizations set up educational and resource booths.

Meanwhile, free food, backpacks, and school supplies were offered at Riverbluff Park in Ashland City Saturday morning as part of the Cheatham County Chamber of Commerce’s Back to School Bash.
Cheatham County businesses, churches, and groups along with the United Way, helped make the giveaway possible.

Kids Fest was also held at the park, hosted by Ashland City Parks and Rec. Children got to take part in Touch A Truck, and the fire department helped kids beat the heat with a little spray down from the fire engine.
