Cam Little was weeks off from history, not yards, when he closed the first half of the Jacksonville Jaguars' preseason opener with a kick the NFL has never seen.

On the final play of the second quarter, the Jaguars kicker drilled a 70-yard field goal to cut the Pittsburgh Steelers' lead to 14-9. He was immediately mobbed by teammates before heading to the locker room.

"Holy smokes, they got a shot," the broadcaster said as the kick sailed through the air.

The longest kick in NFL history belongs to former Baltimore Ravens kicker Justin Tucker, who made a 66-yard kick against the Detroit Lions in 2021. Little's kick beat that mark by four yards, but doesn't count because he did it in preseason.

Still, consider Little a kicker to watch this season, because the Jaguars might act accordingly now that he's shown he can do it.

The Jaguars drafted Little in the sixth round of the 2024 NFL Draft. He enjoyed a successful rookie season last year, going 27-for-29 on field goals with a long of 59 yards. He was also perfect on 27 extra point attempts and forced a touchback on 85.5% of kickoffs.
