(INSIDE CALIFORNIA POLITICS) — A new poll by Emerson College gives insight into how California voters are feeling on a number of issues, including who they favor for California governor now that former Vice President Kamala Harris has announced she will not seek the position. Political analysts Paul Mitchell and Matt Rexroad joined host Nikki Laurenzo to discuss the poll results.
Mitchell and Rexroad also discuss Newsom’s threat to redistrict the state in favor of Democrats in response to partisan redistricting efforts in Texas by Republicans. The Emerson Poll showed 33% of respondents favored redrawing California’s Congressional map. Another 25% opposed and 42% said they were unsure.
Former Assembly Speaker Anthony Rendon joined the show to discuss why he’s running for State School Superintendent. Rendon noted the importance the role may take on as the Trump administration looks to cut the federal Department of Education.
