
New York has been ranked one of the top states for workers, according to a new report from legal help website Atticus.
The ranking evaluates all 50 states and Washington, D.C., using key factors such as salary, job market strength, gender pay equality, and workplace safety.
How did New York rank?
The Empire State ranked No. 2 overall, just behind Washington, D.C. Here's how New York placed in each category:
#3 in salary
#11 in job market strength
#16 in gender pay equality
#8 in workplace safety
Atticus also noted that New York has the third-highest average wage and third-highest minimum wage in the country.

How was the ranking calculated?
