Cop Was Never Going To Catch This C8 Corvette

We all know C8 Corvettes are fast machines, but this cop who tried chasing one didn’t even stand a chance. Even worse, this wasn’t some random officer but instead was a trooper with Arkansas State Police. It’s all caught on dashcam video.

Remember when a C5 and C6 Corvette race ended in disaster.

The trooper originally pulled over the C8 Corvette because of window tint that was too dark. But before the troper can walk up to the mid-engine sports car, the driver throws it into gear and takes off.

Then the guy stops and lets his passenger out, probably because that guy wanted no part in what was about to happen.

That’s when the suspect really drops the hammer, pulling away from the trooper as he uselessly tries keeping up. Speeding through a residential area and taking several turns rapidly, the suspect loses the trooper in short order.

But as more cops flood into the area, the suspect was spotted again, and a new chase ensued. But once again, the suspect unleashes the superior performance of his sports car, leaving the police eating his dust.

The police never stood a chance.

Some people have correctly noted the C8 Corvette wears Arkansas Municipal Police Association license plates. They believe because of this, the guy behind the wheel must be a member of local law enforcement.

However, as clearly spelled out on the Arkansas Department of Finance and Administration website, literally anyone can get the plates. While they’re popular with law enforcement and their families, that doesn’t mean this guy is a cop or even is related to one.

And while the dashcam got a clear capture of the ‘Vette’s license plate, it’s possible the thing was a replica and not real. If so, the driver likely got away, at least for now.
