A line of severe thunderstorms that swept across the Dakotas, southern Minnesota and northern Iowa packed a serious punch, bringing damaging winds and torrential rain.
Northern Iowa was the worst hit, with a possible derecho (it's not yet verified) bringing hurricane-force winds, with the highest gust so far recorded at 99 mph.
In Minnesota, winds in excess of 70 mph downed trees and power lines along a line from Mankato to the Twin Cities.

At its height, more than 125,000 Minnesota households were left without power, with 80,000 outages still in effect as of 8 a.m Tuesday.
