Days after a teenage boy disappeared, officials believe they found his body in a California lake.

Nicholas Magana-Zamora, 15, was last seen leaving his home in Watsonville around 11 a.m. local time on Wednesday, July 23, according to an alert from the Santa Cruz County Sheriff's Office. After extensive search efforts, a body was discovered in College Lake in Santa Cruz County on Sunday, July 27.

Although an official identification of the body remains pending, the search and rescue team said they located enough evidence to conclude that the body likely belongs to Magana-Zamora, Sergeant Jacob Pruger of the Santa Cruz County Sheriff's Office told KION.

Additional details have not yet been publicly shared but officials say no foul play is suspected.

The Sheriff’s Department did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment.

At the time he was seen leaving his home, the teen was seen sporting a gray shirt, green jacket, jeans and riding a multi-colored mountain bike, according to the sheriff's office.

His bike, phone and shoes were later found near the shore of College Lake, which is about one mile northeast of Watsonville. Search and rescue teams, who had been scouring the area, also located footprints going in and out of the lake, according KSBW.
