KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The United States Department of Justice (DOJ) said five adults from Kansas City have been indicted by a federal grand jury for their involvement in a drug trafficking scheme.
According to the DOJ, 31-year-old Marcellus Anderson, 37-year-old Tyra McGee, 41-year-old Virgil Tillman and 40-year-old Martin Holloman, all of KCMO, and 25-year-old Ricky Bowie of KCK were charged in the August 13 indictment. The indictment on Wednesday replaces a previous one, which only charged Anderson and McGee.

All five defendants have been charged and accused of taking part in a conspiracy to distribute fentanyl, a fentanyl analogue, heroin, methamphetamine and cocaine between December 2023 and June 11 2023.
Additionally, Anderson is charged with three counts of distribution of cocaine, one count of distribution of methamphetamine, five counts of distribution of fentanyl, one count of possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime and one count of being a felon in possession of a firearm.
McGee is also charged with one count of distributing fentanyl and one count of distributing a fentanyl analogue. Bowie, Tillman and Holloman are charged with one separate count each of distributing fentanyl.
Court records show that the original complaint alleged that Anderson sold cocaine, meth, fentanyl and a fentanyl analogue on several occasions. McGee took part in two of the transactions. Records say that Anderson had a Glock handgun in his lap during the transaction as well.
The case is being prosecuted by Special Assistant US Attorney Jessica Jennings. It was investigated by the ATF, the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Kansas City Police Department and the Missouri Western Interdiction and Narcotics Task Force.
