In August 2025, leasing a RAV4 with a plug is a safe bet
The RAV4 Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV) is the most powerful and most expensive RAV4 model you can get, but don’t be fooled into thinking that means it’s unaffordable. In August, Toyota is promoting a remarkably good lease thanks to the inclusion of $6,500 TFS Lease Subvention Cash. The result is a low monthly payment of $319 per month. The lease term is 36 months and includes 10,000 miles per year, and customers will need to put $3,999 down at signing. The lease offer doesn’t include taxes, fees, or any other dealer charges, but it does include two years or 25,000 miles of complimentary maintenance via ToyotaCare.

You could lease a RAV4 PHEV with no money down, too
We can get a good idea of what a RAV4 PHEV lease with no money down looks like by spreading the $3,999 due at signing across the lease term. Of course, this method isn’t 100% accurate, and for a real $0 down quote, you should go to a Toyota dealership. Spreading the $3,999 across 36 months adds $111 to the monthly payment and brings the new total to $430 per month. For the most accurate $0 down lease quote for a RAV4 PHEV, though, you’ll want to enter your zip code on the Toyota website and get the most up-to-date RAV4 PHEV deals and incentives.
More about the Toyota RAV4 PHEV
With 42 miles of electric-only driving range and some seriously impressive fuel economy ratings from the EPA — 40/36/38 city/highway/combined, respectively — the RAV4 PHEV is eminently practical and the perfect way to cut down on your fuel consumption. The hybrid powertrain also makes the RAV4 PHEV the most powerful SUV in the lineup. With 302 horsepower on tap, we’re hesitant to call the RAV4 PHEV fast, but we will say it scoots from zero to 60 mph in around 5.4 seconds, according to the last time Car and Driver tested the car. It should be noted that the nice power doesn’t make the RAV4 PHEV particularly fun to drive — it’s just sorta quick for what it is.

The RAV4 PHEV is only available in two grades — SE and XSE — and both come well-equipped. The standard SUV comes with LED headlights, 18-inch alloys, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and Blind Spot Monitoring, making it pretty well-equipped to handle daily driver duty for anyone not requiring a third row of seats. The top trim XSE adds 19-inch wheels, a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, and plenty of other goodies, but it's also a $4,000 step up in MSRP, though. We think the SE is more than enough.
Final thoughts
With the inclusion of the $6,500 TFS Lease Subvention Cash, the RAV4 PHEV is a bit of a no-brainer of a lease. Funny enough, the advertised lease price is nearly identical to the non-plug-in version. So, unless you have no access to any sort of charging station, it just makes sense to spring for the RAV4 PHEV. Go get one while you can — there’s no word on how long the Subvention Cash will be available.
