The investigation into Hulk Hogan’s death remains ongoing due to the “unique nature” of the case, police in Clearwater, Florida, have said.
In a statement shared with Rolling Stone, the Clearwater Police Department said that they’ve had to “interview multiple witnesses and seek medical records from a variety of providers” as part of their investigation, and that “detectives continue to do that.”

Hogan — whose real name was Terry Bollea — died in late July. His cause of death was confirmed as a heart attack several days later, and police have already said there’s no evidence of foul play. It’s unclear what exactly the Clearwater police are still investigating, though it could be related to Hogan’s various health issues, such as atrial fibrillation — a heart condition defined as having an irregular heart rhythm — and chronic lymphocytic leukemia, a form of cancer.
The police did not say when they expected to complete their investigation and share the findings with the public (including all records and body camera footage). They did say they would meet with Hogan’s family, “and brief them on the case to this point,” and “share the results of the investigation with the family prior to closing the case and releasing it to the public and media.”
The statement from the Clearwater Police comes after Hogan’s daughter, Brooke, shared a lengthy statement on Instagram earlier this week about the circumstances surrounding her father’s death. She claimed to have received calls from various professionals, including cops and nurses, who claimed to be with Hogan the day he died and told her that the police body cam footage and 911 tapes “supposedly contain information that could potentially shed enough light to change the narrative” (via People).
She continued: “Those same professionals feel so passionately about what they witnessed, they have continued to contact me and push me to find specific answers to this very day. They are quite literally putting their careers at risk because they feel so compelled to do the right thing. The short of it is — it’s all up to my dad’s wife and I have zero control. I can not do anything, my hands are tied, and I have no say in anything regarding my dad — even as his daughter. These are the rules as I’ve been told.”
