New Direct Flights to Colorado Make Skiing Even Easier for Austin, TX Locals

Buckle up, Colorado skiers, you might have an even bigger influx of Central Texas skiers this winter, thanks to Delta's new flights.

Delta Airlines has added several direct flights that will help Central Texas skiers get to, well, places where you can ski, much more easily.

The airline has added three new direct flights from Austin-Bergstrom International Airport to their roster, one of which goes to Denver.

Only a couple hours from ski destinations in Summit County like Vail, Keystone, Copper Mountain, Breckenridge and more, Denver is a major hub for skiers flying into Colorado. Whether you plan to connect to a smaller airport around the state from Denver, or rent a car and drive to the mountains (which if you do, get something with 4WD and snow tires for everyone's sake), new direct flights into Denver from Austin make that much easier.

Delta's new flight from AUS to DEN begins November 9, 2025 with a twice daily connection though SkyWest. Passengers will travel via Embraer 175 aircraft equipped with Delta First, Delta Comfort, and Delta Main cabins and notably, larger windows and more personal space for passengers.

"This is another exciting investment in our community from Delta,” said Ghizlane Badawi, AUS CEO in a press release. “We are so grateful for their partnership and shared mission of connecting Austin and Central Texas travelers to more nonstop destinations. We look forward to the continued collaboration with the airline, especially as we make progress on expanding and improving our airport."

In addition to a direct flight to Denver, Delta has also added direct flights from Austin to Columbus (CMH) and Kansas City (MCI) as well as increased flight service to San Francisco (SFO) and Indianapolis (IND), although none of those really scream 'destination ski getaway...'
