If you have a question or thought for Rep. Warren Davidson, Wednesday night is the time to share it.

Davidson will host a town hall at 6 p.m. on Aug. 27 at Edgewood Middle School in Trenton. He represents Ohio's 8th Congressional District, which sits on the western border of Ohio and includes Darke, Preble and Butler counties, along with portions of Miami and Hamilton counties.

““This is a great opportunity for citizens of Southwest Ohio to ask questions and hear directly from me. I encourage everyone to attend and participate!" Davidson said in a news release announcing the town hall.

When was Davidson's last town hall?

Town halls with congressional Republicans have been scarce since March, when House Republicans were advised to stop holding town halls after angry constituents voiced their concerns about cuts under Trump's administration.

Davidson held a town hall in Green Township last August when he was running for reelection. The congressman did not respond to questions from The Enquirer in March about when he last held a town hall or whether there were any scheduled in the near future.

Butler County Democrats held an "empty chair" town hall with Davidson in April, seeking to ask the congressman questions about social security, the Save Act and deportations. Davidson was invited but declined to attend the event.

Who is Warren Davidson?

Davidson is an Army veteran with a master's degree in business administration from the University of Notre Dame. He ran his family's manufacturing business, West Troy Tool, before serving in Congress.

He's represented Ohio's 8th Congressional District since 2016 and serves on the House Financial Services Committee and House Foreign Affairs Committee. He was a member of the Republicans' House Freedom Caucus until June 2024, when he was ousted after endorsing the chairman's opponent.

Davidson bans signs from town hall

Davidson said in the news release that disruptions and signs will be prohibited from the town hall and there will be police there.

The town hall will be held at 5005 OH-73. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. Those interested in attending can register online here.
