Mercedes-Maybach unveils 2026 SL680 Monogram Series, a $226,050 two-seat grand tourer blending AMG performance with Maybach luxury.

Mercedes-Benz is taking its Maybach sub-brand into new territory with the debut of the 2026 Mercedes-Maybach SL680 Monogram Series, a two-seat ultraluxury grand tourer built from the foundation of the AMG SL63.

The new SL680 merges AMG performance with Maybach refinement. Under the hood remains the AMG’s potent 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V-8, producing 577 horsepower and paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel-drive system. While the powertrain is unchanged, Maybach engineers have introduced upgrades designed to quiet the cabin and deliver a smoother, more composed ride, aligning the car with Maybach’s comfort-first philosophy.

On the outside, the SL680 is distinguished by unique Maybach styling cues, including exclusive paint finishes and bespoke exterior details. Inside, the cabin has been reimagined with signature Maybach craftsmanship, featuring higher-grade materials, additional luxury options, and a focus on individualized design. Mercedes says these changes elevate the SL680 beyond the AMG SL63, positioning it as a true grand tourer rather than a pure sports car.

The move marks the first time Maybach has applied its treatment to a two-seat model. Historically known for opulent sedans and SUVs, the SL680 signals an expansion of the brand’s reach into the performance-luxury roadster market.

Starting at $226,050, the SL680 commands a significant premium over the AMG variant, reflecting its bespoke features and exclusivity. With this launch, Mercedes-Maybach is betting that customers who value both performance and high-end craftsmanship will find appeal in a model that blends sports car capability with grand touring comfort.

The SL680 Monogram Series is expected to compete not only with high-performance roadsters but also with luxury offerings from brands like Bentley and Aston Martin, further solidifying Maybach’s place at the top of Mercedes’ portfolio.
