Bubba Wallace Plays Victim After Massive Daytona Crash

After the big crash in Daytona that took out multiple drivers and their playoff hopes, Bubba Wallace is yet again playing victim. When he was interviewed afterward, Wallace whined about being blamed for causing the crash, saying it was “Blame Bubba Wallace National Day.”

A NASCAR legend passed away last week.

It’s the kind of lack of composure we’ve come to expect from Wallace, sadly, who has in the past caused some rather large and controversial crashes. But he wants everyone to believe this one wasn’t his fault, that he’s being singled out unfairly for some reason, saying he would just take the blame even though it’s clear he felt it wasn’t his.

However, not everyone’s falling for his act. Fellow driver Denny Hamlin, who was caught up in the chaos, costing him several points in the process, was clear in his assertion that Wallace was in fact to blame.

Hamlin went on his Actions Detrimental podcast after, saying Wallace had “squeezed” Kyle Busch and Joey Logano down when he in fact wasn’t clear, triggering the massive wreck and wrecking himself. Hamlin seemed confused about why No. 23 even did that.

But Wallace said he “thought everyone was playing nice” and so was shocked things went sideways so quickly. The crash ended the race for Alex Bowman, Riley Herbst, and Austin Cindric. Because Busch’s car took significant damage, he no longer was the contender he was before.

Instead of just owning up to this actions, yet again Wallace is using passive aggression to paint himself as an unjust victim.

But the way he said things has allowed those friendly to him and his cause in the media to say he expressed zero negativity. Do they not understand sarcasm? Do they not get what a victim stance is? Or are they sympathetic because that’s how they conduct themselves professionally?

This is yet another incident where many NASCAR fans are going to feel Wallace not only can’t take accountability, but he’s causing completely unnecessary crashes that even hurt him. That feels like either recklessness or incompetence, or maybe a little of both.
