Angry Ohio Man Recovers His Wife’s Stolen SUV

A man in Grove City, Ohio took the law into his own hands, tracking down and recovering his wife’s stolen GMC SUV. The vehicle, which the family uses to transport their kids to school and activities, was taken from the driveway after the suspects broke into the house, swiping the Acadia’s key fob from the woman’s purse.

C6 Corvette driver wrecks big while leaving a car meet.

This comes amidst a rash of similar thefts in Grove City, where the family lives, and many people there believe it’s teenagers who are behind the crime spree, reports WBNS. The guy who recovered his wife’s GMC Acadia Denali has evidence which would prove that theory correct.

That evidence is a series of social media posts from one of the suspects. Videos show them joyriding, ordering food at a Wendy’s drive-through, etc. We always love when people document their crimes online, showing their faces and plenty more evidence.

Eventually, using the trail of information, the guy was able to find the SUV just abandoned on the side of the road. Once he tracked it down, he found stolen wallets, purses, Amazon packages, drug paraphernalia, and at least one handgun magazine left inside.

The guy, like other victims of these thefts, is angry about the lack of parenting which leads to kids committing crimes like this. But they also seem over the fact the local police fail to do something about the problem. After all, the one guy had to track down his own ride.

And that brings us to a relevant point: had he installed a tracking device in his wife’s vehicle, he might have been able to recover it sooner. As he told the local reporter, he never thought something like that would happen to him, so he didn’t take steps to secure the vehicle better.

We don’t know how the teens broke into the house to get the key, but keeping your garage door closed and front door locked are wise moves. Having cameras helps supply evidence to police.

Taking precautions can help you avoid being a victim of car theft, or at least make getting your vehicle back easier.
