It's feeling like sweater weather as below-normal temperatures sweep in across Pennsylvania and the fall season edges closer. Here's the Old Farmer's Almanac forecast prediction for this fall.

The National Weather Service forecast a dip in the jet stream over the Keystone state on Aug. 26, that is bringing below normal temperatures through the end of this week, which ends with Labor Day and the beginning of September.

While an overall warmer-than-average fall season was predicted by the Old Farmer's Almanac for 2025 for the United States, most of Pennsylvania, the Appalachians and Lower Lakes are forecast to see cooler-than-average temperatures and dry conditions with lower-than average precipitation.

In the Northeast, average temperatures will be 59 degrees in September and 46 degrees in October, according to the Almanac. Expected precipitation levels will be 3.5 inches in September and 2.5 inches in October.

"Look for scattered showers, brief warm spells, and overall chilly weather," was the forecast description on the Almanac's website.

Cool temperatures and below-average rainfalls could also translate into beautiful fall foliage in the Northeast.
