Abandoned Corvette Shop Looks Like A Horror Movie

Coming across some abandoned cars like these Corvettes is always a sad sight, but a whole shop of them is horrific. After all, the sports cars in different states of disassembly, combined with the dilapidated structure around them, makes it look like a scene out of the apocalypse.

We can’t believe someone fully restored this mangled, abandoned Porsche 993.

For the most part, the space is populated by C3 Corvettes, their fiberglass bodies discolored is splotches as dust has settled thickly on their windshields. There are a few other Chevrolet cars scattered in, like a Caprice, El Camino, and a first gen Camaro.

But the one that has people really talking is a fifth gen Camaro. Probably because most of the people commenting on this series of photos posted in Reddit recognize that vehicle as a modern ride.

Some people think this wasn’t a legit repair shop but instead was a chop shop that was abandoned for fear the authorities were coming. The reasoning for that is supposedly no real business would just leave the cars abandoned. These people obviously haven’t heard of such nightmare scenarios for customers of certain mechanics.

Others believe the shop is instead a personal collection of vehicles someone hasn’t touched in a long time. That’s possible, but those countering that theory have tried arguing a private individual wouldn’t have a repair shop sign sitting in their collection.

How ignorant most people are to what goes on inside the car hobby can be entertaining.

We have no idea what this collection of Chevrolets, the vast majority being C3 Corvettes, was all about before it was seemingly abandoned. It seems like it could’ve been some rinky-dink shop – we’ve seen them set up this way.

The chop shop theory we think is far fetched. After all, those guys usually would come back once they realize the authorities haven’t come in and seized the cars, liquidating all they can before moving shop.

But the private collection theory is also a strong possibility.

All we know for sure is this is one sad, yet fascinating, sight to behold.
